Job title: Coal Quality Tester - North Bowen Basin - Full-time
About the Role ALS is seeking a permanent full-time Coal Quality Tester to join our Bowen Basin Laboratory Testing team in Mackay on a DIDO, 7-days on / 7-days off roster. This role supports production sampling and coal testing on-site with drive-in, drive-out arrangements from Mackay.
What You'll Do
- Collect production and train samples across the site.
- Conduct a variety of coal testing methods.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Validate results and ensure they meet accuracy and repeatability standards.
- Adhere strictly to Quality Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Prioritise safety and efficient turnaround of test results.
- Maintain a clean, well-organised lab and work area.
What We're Looking For

- Excellent communication and reliability.
- Previous coal testing or laboratory experience (highly regarded).
- A valid Driver’s Licence.
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts on a 7/7 roster.
- Ability to pass medical.
