About the Role Volt is immediately hiring for CNC Operator 2nd shift in Chatsworth, CA. The role focuses on cross-functional collaboration with engineering and manufacturing, driving continuous improvement, and setting up and operating CNC mills to produce precision metal parts. Schedule: 2nd shift 3:15pm-11:45pm, M-F with OT Saturdays 7am-12noon. What You'll Do
- Build rapport with engineering and manufacturing staff and collaborate across functions
- Apply comprehensive technical skills to drive continuous improvement across manufacturing
- Leverage machinist tools and measuring instruments to ensure high quality in products
- Set up CNC mills, test, and run part programs with deep knowledge of the machine
- Apply knowledge of machine shop theory, shop mathematics, material properties, and layout techniques
- Set up and operate CNC mills, with or without digital readout, machining precision metal parts
- Read blueprints in both metric and standard, and convert freely between the two measurements
- Leverage shop math and utilize a calculator What We're Looking For
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- 2-5+ years of CNC machine operation
- Certification in machine shop technology or machine tool technology/machinist highly preferred
- 1-2 years’ experience in mechanical assembly preferred
- Possess a complete set of machinist tools and measuring instruments Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $20 - $26 per hour USD
