CNC Machinist

Volt is immediately hiring for a CNC Machinist for manufacturing companies in the San Diego Area, from Mira Mesa to El Cajon, CA.

As a CNC Machinist you will:

Job Description

• Day to Day Responsibilities
• Solid understanding of CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Determine setup procedures, control settings, machining methods and sequences.
• Independently setup and control settings on CNCs.
• Establish work offsets and set cutting tools.
• Knowledge of cutting tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to follow BOM.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop instructions, customer drawings, and engineering instructions.
• Perform inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Make machine adjustments and tool changes as needed.
• Monitor machines and finished parts to ensure quality and dimensional specifications are met.
• Ability to understand CAD modeling.
• Past experience with HAAS and Okuma Brand CNC equipment is a plus but not required.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety and quality procedures.

Required Skills

• High School Diploma, or equivalent.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a machine shop is required.

• Have knowledge of the manufacturing environment.

• Have knowledge of Aerospace environment and products.

• Must be detail-oriented, extremely thorough and possess good judgment.

• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.

• Must know GD&T and have the ability to read engineering drawings.

• Experience using precision measuring equipment.

• Must be able to work weekends as needed.

• Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.

• Ability to lift 30-50 lbs.

• CNC Mill and/or Lathe experience.

• CNC setup experience preferred.

• HAAS and/or Okuma experience is a plus.

• Work Schedule: Multiple shifts available throughout the San Diego Area

• 1st Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00am-2:30pm

• 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm

• 3rd Shift: Monday - Friday 10:00pm-6:30am

• Pay: $25-35 per hour

• Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
