CNC Machinist

About the Role The CNC Machinist will efficiently set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machining centers to meet quality and productivity targets, applying precise techniques on a variety of parts. This role emphasizes safe, efficient operation and ongoing process improvement to ensure conformance to specifications and overall equipment effectiveness. What You'll Do

• Start up and shut down a variety of machines following established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Set up and operate NC, CNC, PLC and other manual machines (lathes, horizontal & vertical) performing turning, boring and facing of castings and forgings.
• Select and install tooling into tool posts, turrets or indexing heads.
• Mount work pieces in chucks or faceplates manually or with hoists/cranes.
• Perform machining operations on complex parts, ensuring operations stay within parameters, minimizing scrap and rework with acceptable output.
• Read and interpret engineering and quality specifications.
• Apply practical knowledge to adjust (turning dials, switches, offsets/program controls) to optimize machine performance.
• Perform inspections to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments; may inspect for other operators if required.
• Monitor numerical displays and compare with process sheet data to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates and cutting speeds.
• Engage in continuous improvement (lean) activities as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and identify unsafe conditions.
• Wear steel-toed shoes and ANSI-approved safety glasses with side shields at all times. What We're Looking For
• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: 1–3 years of machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Technical Skills: CNC machine operation knowledge; ability to read process drawings and blueprints; solid understanding of shop math; familiarity with micrometers and precision gauges; knowledge of tool setting and basic machine code; computer literate.
• Additional Requirements: Ability to read, write and interpret technical documentation; good communication and teamwork skills; willingness to work in a safety-conscious environment. Nice to Have
• Technical Degree in manufacturing technology preferred. Compensation & Benefits
• Salary range: $41,600.00 to $54,000.00 per year.
