About this role
About the Role The CNC Machinist will join Johnson Controls' federal Navy Systems team at the York Grantley Plant to fabricate, set up, and inspect complex components for Navy vessels. You will work with ferrous and nonferrous metals on second shift, applying precision machining and inspection to meet tight tolerances integrated with Navy equipment. What You'll Do
- Use tool preset machines, precision measuring instruments, hand and power tools, deburr tools, and appropriate material handling equipment.
- Work from drawings, process sheets, specifications, tape programs, instructions, or visual display units to fabricate and assemble parts.
- Perform fixture changeovers, loading and unloading of production parts, on-line piece parts inspection, and manual data input to ensure specified finishes and tolerances.
- Maintain tooling and backup tooling (where necessary).
- Monitor control messages and take appropriate corrective actions to maintain quality and throughput. What We're Looking For
- Experience with CNC machining or a related manufacturing role and ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in fixture changeovers, on-line inspection, and using precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of tooling maintenance and backup tooling, and basic data entry.
- Availability to work 2nd shift in York, PA and adhere to safety and quality standards. Nice to Have
- Welding experience (TIG, stick, MIG) or exposure to welding of Navy equipment.
- Prior federal government or Navy project experience. Compensation & Benefits
- Pay rate: $37.62 per hour base, plus $2.00 per hour shift differential (total potential ~ $39.62/hr for 2nd shift).
- Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday.
