About the Role Columbus McKinnon is seeking a machinist to manufacture machine parts per engineering drawings, tool design drawings, sketches, and verbal requests. The role involves reading part prints, performing basic trigonometry and machine shop calculations, and creating fixtures to hold parts during machining. What You'll Do
- Read part prints and perform basic trigonometry and normal machine shop calculations.
- Create fixtures to hold parts while machining.
- Read blueprints; interpret manufacturing prints and work order packets.
- Complete forms as required by the work center.
- Regularly stand, walk, and use hands; communicate effectively and ensure safety. What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED; 3-5 years related experience and/or training preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Detailed training in CNC machine operation preferred.
- Former experience with Trax type machines preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and part prints; math skills and critical thinking.
- Ability to lift/lower/pull up to 40 lbs safely.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong math skills including basic trigonometry. Nice to Have
- CNC operation training (detailed) and Trax machine experience.
