CNC Machining Manager

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a dedicated CNC Machining Manager to lead a talented team of machining workers at PT. SPM Surface Products. This role will ensure that machining processes, including CNC turning, milling, and multitask operations, run smoothly and comply with company policies, procedures, norms, and directions.

Location: PT. SPM Surface Products Batam, Kepulauan Riau

Travel Requirement: None

You will work both in an office and manufacturing shop-floor environment. Domestic relocation is not available for this position.

What You Will Do:

• Effectively and efficiently manage the machining department to meet quality and delivery expectations, minimize costs where possible, and maintain best working practices at all times.
• Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels, and systems to deliver projects, including engaging external resources as required.
• Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing machining team that meets objectives and delivers best-practice results, added value, and continuous improvements.
• Set department objectives and KPIs and review ongoing performance of direct reports.
• Lead the machining team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance, disciplinary issues, and daily supervision to maximize productive efficiency.
• Monitor task completion and ensure good performance and proper record-keeping on appropriate systems.
• Prepare the annual Machining budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure proposals, ensuring compliance with legal standards. Manage the budget from identification to completion of projects.
• Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operations, implementing continuous improvement activities and process improvements to optimize results and quality of delivery in line with required standards.
• Support and ensure compliance with Environmental Health & Safety regulations, Quality and standards, and all other company policies and procedures.

What You Will Have:

• Budgeting: Knowledge of the organization's budget process; ability to apply policies and practices for planning and administering a budget.
• Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems; ability to apply problem-solving knowledge to diverse situations.
• Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures, and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
• Plant Facilities Management: Knowledge of processes, methodologies, and techniques used to manage plant facilities; ability to handle the full spectrum of activities for managing and maintaining physical facilities and infrastructure.
• Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge and skills into practice.

What Will Set You Apart:

• A minimum diploma in engineering with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role in machining, including CNC turning, milling, and multitask operations.
• Proficiency in English (speaking and writing) and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

• This job requires extensive active movement throughout the plant including climbing stairs, lifting, and pushing and pulling equipment.
