About the Role The Cloud Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Associate is an entry-level role within Scotiabank's Global Corporate Functions SRE team in Bogota. The role contributes to reliability, scalability, and performance of applications and infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, applying Site Reliability Engineering principles and supporting the onboarding of applications to cloud infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the management of cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform using infrastructure as code with Terraform.
- Assist in the development of automation scripts using Python to streamline operational tasks and improve system efficiency.
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable software releases.
- Apply fundamental Site Reliability Engineering principles to monitor Service Level Objectives and error budgets for managed services.
- Provide support for containerized applications running on Kubernetes, including basic troubleshooting and operational tasks.
- Assist in the configuration and troubleshooting of cloud networking components, such as virtual private clouds, subnets, and firewall rules, under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Help implement and manage security configurations and secrets management solutions in accordance with established security best practices.
- Participate in maintaining GitOps workflows for declarative continuous delivery using tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
- Contribute to the implementation of monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure system observability and proactive issue detection as part of a DevOps-oriented team.
