Job title: Cloud Security Engineer

About the Role The Cloud Security Engineer / DevSecOps will help protect Motorola Solutions' cloud assets across AWS, Azure, and GCP, supporting CJIS, CCCS, and FedRAMP compliance within our Cloud Public Safety Application SaaS platform. You will join a world‑class security team within the Core Platforms & Services (CPS) organization that secures mission‑critical cloud workloads used by public safety and government agencies.

What You'll Do

• Security Posture Management: monitor and assess security posture of cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Infrastructure Protection: deploy/maintain CNAPP, vulnerability detection, WAF, and firewalls
• Automation: develop tools for automated self‑verification of security functions and support automated inventory and security alerting
• Compliance: support assessments for standards such as NIST 800‑53, OWASP, GDPR, ISO, and SOC 2
• Incident Collaboration: collaborate on detection rules and assist with incident response, occasionally serving as Incident Coordinator
• Continuous Improvement: stay current with security technology and recommend improvements to the security posture

What We're Looking For

• Cloud Platforms: strong understanding of AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Cybersecurity: knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and framework adherence (NIST, ISO, FedRAMP)
• Education: Bachelor's or Master’s in computer science, software engineering, or related field preferred
• Containers & Orchestration: experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Software Engineering: ability to develop code and automation scripts in Python, JavaScript/NodeJS, Bash, or Azure CLI
• CI/CD & DevOps: experience with containerized deployments using AzureDevOps Pipelines or GitHub Actions
• Version Control: knowledge of Git
• Systems & Monitoring: basic Linux administration and familiarity with the Elastic stack
• Network Security: understanding of network protocols, topologies, and firewall/WAF configuration
• Quick learning: ability to rapidly learn new technologies and security practices
• Preferred: Kyverno policy management; familiarity with Wiz or Prisma Cloud
• Additional requirements: US citizenship/residency; ability to obtain government background clearance; travel under 10%; in‑office presence weekly at Chicago, Schaumburg, IL, or Allen, TX

Compensation & Benefits

• Target Base Salary Range: $95,000 – $120,000 USD
