Marzetti is seeking a Cloud Integration Engineering Intern to join our 2027 Summer Internship Program!

Over the course of our 12-week program, our interns will gain:

• Take ownership of meaningful engineering deliverables and gain hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, event-driven integration, APIs, messaging, and automated workflows while contributing to a real-world enterprise technology initiative.
• Technical Development: Build practical skills in cloud engineering, software development, event-driven architecture, enterprise integration, testing, troubleshooting, monitoring, and technical documentation while receiving guidance and mentorship from experienced technology professionals.
• Cross-Functional Exposure: Collaborate with professionals across IT Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, application and business systems teams, and other areas of the organization to understand how technology solutions support broader business objectives.
• Professional Development: Develop your professional network by connecting with colleagues, managers, and fellow interns through project collaboration, social activities, volunteer opportunities, and development sessions with company leadership.
• Communication & Leadership: Develop experience communicating technical concepts, participating in design discussions and solution reviews, and presenting project outcomes and recommendations to IT leaders and stakeholders.

Essential Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design and development of event-driven integration solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies.

• Develop and configure automated workflows using Azure Logic Apps and related Azure services.

• Work with REST APIs, JSON payloads, messaging, and event-driven integration patterns to connect applications and business systems.

• Gain hands-on experience with Azure messaging technologies such as Azure Service Bus and potentially other event-driven Azure services.

• Assist with the development of reusable integration patterns for message processing, error handling, retries, exception management, and monitoring.

• Develop or assist with Azure Functions or other code-based components when custom processing is required.

• Develop and execute test scenarios to validate workflows, integrations, error handling, and end-to-end solution behavior.

• Troubleshoot integration and workflow issues using Azure logging, monitoring, and diagnostic capabilities.

• Participate in technical design sessions, code and solution reviews, project meetings, and engineering discussions.

• Use source control and established software development practices to manage and document solution changes.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, solution diagrams, process flows, and implementation guidance for solutions developed during the internship.

• Coordinate and complete assigned project deliverables within established timelines while communicating progress, risks, questions, and technical challenges to the project team.

• Collaborate with IT Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, application teams, business systems teams, and other stakeholders to understand how enterprise solutions are designed and delivered.

• Prepare and deliver a final demonstration and presentation of the internship project, including the solution developed, technical approach, challenges encountered, lessons learned, and recommendations for future development.

• Qualifications What You'll Bring

Qualification Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program with a focus in: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related technical discipline.

• Rising senior preferred, with anticipated graduation within approximately one year following completion of the internship.

• Coursework, academic projects, personal projects, or work experience involving programming or software development.

• Familiarity with at least one general-purpose programming language such as C#, Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.

• Basic understanding of software development concepts and an interest in cloud computing, software engineering, system integration, or event-driven architecture.

• Exposure to REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, databases, or SQL through coursework or project experience is preferred.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Git/source control, or other cloud technologies is preferred but not required.

• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and the capacity to apply logical and analytical thinking when developing solutions.

• Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn new technologies and engineering concepts.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.

• Demonstrated teamwork through academic projects, extracurricular activities, internships, or work experience.

• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively as part of an engineering and project team.

• Professional, positive attitude and willingness to receive and incorporate technical feedback.
