About the Role
The Cloud Engineer is a mid-to-senior IT professional responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions for Tyler’s hosted environments in AWS and Azure. This role focuses on building scalable, secure, SaaS-ready infrastructure and partnering with application teams to address deployment and performance needs.
What You'll Do

Develop and automate cloud infrastructure and operations (IaaS) to support Tyler applications.

Design, implement, and optimize new cloud-based product solutions and processes; maintain automation and documentation.

Serve as SME for AWS hosting environments; monitor using CloudWatch, DataDog, and SolarWinds.

Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform); automate Windows and Linux server provisioning and maintenance.

Manage performance, uptime, incident/outage responses, and change management; create technical drawings and workflows.

Collaborate across teams; mentor junior staff; maintain a knowledgebase and cross-train personnel.

Review sizing and provide recommendations to ensure optimal performance; document operations toolsets.

Stay current with cloud technologies and apply security best practices in accordance with enterprise policies.

Lead cloud-based IT projects within broader initiatives; communicate findings to leadership.

What We're Looking For
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or comparable work experience.

4+ years of hands-on public cloud hosting/deployment (AWS, Azure, Google).

3+ years of infrastructure as code, development, and automation (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

Extensive experience with IAM administration; EC2, S3, EBS, ELB, SES, Route 53; AWS regions and Multi-AZ deployments.

Systems Manager; CloudFormation; Terraform; PowerShell; Shell scripting; JSON.

Proficient in monitoring tools (CloudWatch, DataDog, SolarWinds); CDN concepts (CloudFront).

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and customer-service skills; excellent verbal and written communication.

Ability to troubleshoot independently in a fast-paced environment; 0-5% travel.

CJIS fingerprint background check is required.

AWS Certification(s); Microsoft/VMware certifications.

Experience supporting apps in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud; PCI/CJIS/SSAE compliance familiarity.

Project management and change management capabilities; strong leadership and negotiation skills.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: USD 74,575 - 95,000 per year, before geographic adjustments; incentive eligibility to be confirmed.
