About the Role
Canonical is hiring for a Cloud Alliances Business Development Lead to coordinate the go-to-market with tier-1 cloud partners. This role develops joint product roadmaps, drives delivery, and creates go-to-market content and processes to enable differentiated offerings and robust product lifecycle support for Canonical products. The role supports cross-functional collaboration between Canonical’s sales, marketing and alliances teams and cloud partner counterparts, and includes quarterly and yearly public cloud revenue forecasting. This position is remote, based in the Americas, with some travel.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with product, engineering, alliance and marketing teams at a cloud partner to align on open-source strategies.
- Capture partner requirements, evaluate gaps, and identify Canonical opportunities.
- Coordinate with marketing and product teams on messaging, content creation, and launch plans.
- Create partner- and customer-facing materials such as reference architectures, joint blueprints, webinars, presentations, videos, and white papers.
- Drive Ubuntu adoption within targeted alliance accounts, advocate its benefits to stakeholders, and work with partners on enablement training for their development, delivery, support and commercial teams.
- Influence cloud customers to build with Canonical technology.
- Travel up to 25% (including international travel) for internal conferences and in-person partnership activities.
What We're Looking For
- Exceptional academic track record or a compelling narrative about an alternative path.
- Bachelor's degree in science, technology and/or engineering.
- Experience in software development and system architecture.
- Customer-facing experience in software engineering, product management, business development, technology strategy or similar functions.
- Data-driven mindset, ability to navigate complex technical challenges, quick learner, and ability to architect strategies across global teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
