About the Role
Examines, diagnoses, and treats laboratory animals to ensure the health of animals used in scientific research and to comply with regulations governing their humane and ethical treatment in support of study conduct by performing the following duties. Supports the design and performance of studies in collaboration with Study Directors and other personnel. Primary contributor to improvements in the department of reproductive toxicology specifically regarding infant care and dam assessments, including the development of staff training programs and specific guidelines for care of high-risk animals.

- Maintain good laboratory practices (GLP)
- Provide routine and/or specialized veterinary medical, dental, imaging, and surgical services for laboratory animals.
- Provide professional leadership in the care and resolution of complex medical cases that arise within the facility
- Assist in the design and implementation of the preventive medicine program for all animal species
- Provide training and supervision of staff regarding technical procedures, appropriateness of such and the humane use of animals in their programs
