Clinical Supervisor/Instructor, Audiology
The Department of Speech & Hearing Sciences at Lamar University is seeking a full-time, 9-month, clinical instructor/supervisor in Audiology. Start date is negotiable. Applicants must be flexible and adaptable; and have a cooperative work style. All specialty areas will be considered.

Essential Job Functions
- Teach assigned courses; provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and evaluation of students; participate in service activities that support the department, college, university, profession, and community; and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the university.
Minimum and Desired Qualifications
Minimum Qualification:
- Doctor of Audiology (Au. D.) and/or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Audiology or closely related field.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech Language-Hearing Association or eligible to obtain at the time of hire.
- Active holder or eligible to obtain Texas state licensure Audiology at the time of hire.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching courses, supervising, and/or mentoring students.
- College or university-level teaching experience.

Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday; communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic means; hear and interpret speech and auditory signals necessary for audiological testing, patient care, and clinical supervision; and operate computers, audiometric equipment, and other standard office and clinical tools. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to perform repetitive hand and finger movements associated with keyboarding, documentation, and equipment operation. Position requires visual acuity to review patient records, analyze test results, and monitor clinical procedures, as well as the ability to occasionally bend, reach, stoop, and lift or move equipment and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds. Travel between clinical sites, classrooms, laboratories, and community locations may be required.

Job Conditions: Work is performed within a residential program operated by the SPHS Department and may require regular interaction with residents, staff and community partners.
