About the Role A registered professional nurse employed by Erlanger Medical Center is responsible for direct and indirect care of the patient in the Elective Orthopedic Operating Room unit. The Clinical Staff Leader oversees daily unit operations, plans and executes care with oncoming staff leaders, and ensures compliance with policies, quality and safety initiatives. What You'll Do
- Manage the unit on scheduled shifts, ensure compliance with nursing standards and department policies.
- Provide direct and indirect patient care and coordinate with oncoming staff leaders to execute care plans.
- Maintain and update Visual Management Board, ensure bedside reporting occurs daily, and drive HCAHPs initiatives. Ensure adherence to clinical bundles (e.g., CLABSI, CAUTI) and strict hand hygiene practices.
- Support continuous improvement in quality and safety across the elective orthopedic operating room unit. What We're Looking For
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Current Tennessee RN license; BLS; unit-specific certification; evidence of leadership ability; certification by specialty within 1 year of eligibility.
- Experience: Required clinical experience with minimum 2 years preferred; leadership experience.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of general nursing principles, organizational functions, policies and regulations, current trends and developments; ability to apply nursing knowledge in practice.
- Licensure/Certification: Tennessee RN licensure; BLS; unit-specific certifications as required; specialty certification within 1 year of eligibility. Nice to Have
