Job title: Clinical Specialist - Electrophysiology (EP)

About the Role Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) team seeks a Clinical Specialist to serve as a senior clinical interface, providing advanced engineering, sales, educational and technical support for EP products. This role requires independent judgment, deep EP product knowledge, and the ability to educate healthcare professionals while supporting sales objectives within a region.

What You'll Do

  • Provide advanced engineering, sales, education and clinical support in response to complex field inquiries from physicians, health care professionals, patients, and field sales staff.
  • Act as senior clinical interface between the medical community and the business; build and sustain credible relationships and share product expertise.
  • Identify customer needs, product performance feedback and potential sales opportunities; communicate to sales/management to influence growth.
  • Develop, lead and facilitate trainings and programs on EP products for healthcare professionals.
  • Provide regional EP procedural case coverage.
  • Provide back-up support to EP Sales Representatives in areas: sales support; regional training seminars; clinical studies/data collection; troubleshooting; and new product in-service training to physicians, nurses and sales representatives.
  • Mentor and provide leadership for less experienced Clinical Specialists; continue skill development aligned with Arrhythmia Management strategy.
  • Assist Training and Education with advanced educational seminars, and the preparation of educational materials; assist Sales with advanced product demonstrations.
  • Stay current on developments in EP field, regulatory requirements, and knowledge of company/competitor products, markets, and trends.
  • Resolve and/or facilitate resolution of problems, identifying causes to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Perform related functions and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year in previous position.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience (internal or external).
  • Prior industry/competitive experience (if external).
  • Solely dedicated to EP support.
  • IBHRE EP certified.
  • Ability to perform complex EP cases solo.
  • Ability to mentor and train EP CS roles and CA CS roles on complex mapping cases.
  • Ability to conduct complex customer education events solo to sell the value proposition of the full EP portfolio.
  • Performs in the top 1/2 of number of cases completed across clinical group at time of promotion in defined Region/Area.
  • Verification that you will satisfy vendor credentialing requirements, which may include vaccination for COVID-19.

Nice to Have

  • Experience mentoring and leading less experienced Clinical Specialists.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct advanced educational seminars and product demonstrations.
  • Familiarity with regulatory/credentialing processes and industry trends.
