Clinical Risk Liaison

About the Role The Clinical Risk Liaison serves as the primary connection between the Transition and Clinical Teams and the Quality and Patient Safety Department. This time-limited role focuses on embedding safety into the hospital transformation, proactively identifying and mitigating safety risks throughout the transition from BWH to BIDMC, with matrixed accountability to the Transitional Management Office and governance structures. What You'll Do

• Serve as the day-to-day risk point of contact for the DFCI transition from BWH affiliation to BIDMC affiliation.
• Collaborate with multiple functional workstreams (Legal, Compliance, Quality/Patient Safety, Privacy/Information Security, IT, Finance, HR, Clinical Operations, Facilities, etc.) to identify risk and vulnerabilities during separation, contingency, and new hospital build phases.
• Coordinate risk due diligence activities: conduct risk assessments, review policies and documents, escalate risks to QPS leadership, and maintain the transition risk register, issues log, and heat maps.
• Prepare risk dashboards, summaries, and presentations for steering committees and senior leadership; ensure clear escalation of high/urgent risks and decision points.
• Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and performance metrics; track corrective actions to closure and report progress to sponsors.
• Maintain complete, timely, and confidential documentation; contribute to continuous improvement of affiliation risk processes, tools, and templates. What We're Looking For
• Proficiency in risk management methodologies and tools (FMEA, risk assessment, heat maps and matrices).
• Experience navigating the structures and dynamics within matrixed organizations, as well as multi-institutional relationships.
• Critical thinking and synthesis; ability to build and facilitate cross-functional teams and influence others without formal authority.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment; strong time management and adaptability.
• Data literacy and dashboard interpretation; project coordination and change management skills.
• Integrity, confidentiality, and accountability; effective written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Smartsheet. Nice to Have
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Experience in healthcare administration, patient safety, quality, or related fields. Compensation & Benefits
• Salary range: $120,100.00 - $138,200.00 per year
• Work Location: Hybrid (2-3 days onsite per week)
