About the Role The UC College of Medicine and UC Cancer Center are seeking a Clinical Research Assistant to support clinical trials by assisting with patient visits, ECGs, biospecimens, and data collection under the supervision of the Clinical Research Manager. What You'll Do
- Review calendar of upcoming patient visits to identify ECG, biospecimen, and financial documentation needs for the week.
- Complete ECGs on study-provided machines; document completion and obtain MD/NP review and signature in real time.
- Prepare biospecimen collection supplies and coordinate transport/shipment; ensure processing manuals and supplies are up to date.
- Collect, document, transport, and process biospecimens as needed; enter data into study-specific electronic data capture systems.
- Maintain accurate records of ECGs and biospecimens; file deviations and regulatory deviations as required.
- Complete financial documentation for research visits and maintain billing logs; track patient stipends.
- Maintain/update patient status in the Clinical Trial Management System and biospecimen kit inventory.
- Prepare study checklists, travel charts, and Informed Consent documents as needed by the coordinators.
- Perform related duties as needed. What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s Degree and/or two years of general workforce experience considered.
- 2 years of general workforce experience (if not covered by degree).
- Ability to coordinate diverse activities in a clinical trial setting; strong attention to detail and regulatory/accreditation requirements.
- Experience with data entry and electronic data capture systems (industry- or investigator-initiated studies). Nice to Have
- Associate’s Degree and/or related coursework in the sciences.
- Experience in clinical research, data management, biospecimen processing, and regulatory documentation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills. Compensation & Benefits
