About this role

About the Role The Clinical Research Aide will support two psychiatry research programs at Columbia University Medical Center. The first program aims to understand and improve mental health among racially and ethnically minoritized families living in low-resource communities, involving pregnant women, parents, and children. The second program focuses on characteristics of patients with anxiety disorders, including regulatory and data-management tasks. The role is to learn and perform essential study activities under supervision of the Principal Investigator and study staff. What You'll Do

  • After training: conduct study procedures including screening to determine eligibility; verify, enroll, and obtain consent from eligible participants; complete follow-ups and reminders in person and remotely; administer study interviews and assessments; collect biospecimens; adhere to study protocols and complete data collection forms and administrative tracking as outlined. (60%)
  • Perform tasks such as processing, transporting, and shipping of biological specimens as assigned, adhering to the study protocol. (10%)
  • Complete study documents and files such as case report forms, worksheets, and medical record notes; maintain confidential documents and HIPAA-compliant files. (15%)
  • Assist PI and study management to complete regulatory and IRB edits/tracking and to monitor/update the Manual of Procedures as needed. (5%)
  • Attend weekly team meetings and maintain routine communication with team members and PI; complete GCP, HIPAA, and applicable regulatory training certifications. (5%)
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested. (5%) What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, public health, or a related field.
  • At least 6 months of related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Experience with structured interviewing and field recruitment (preferred). Nice to Have
  • Conversational Spanish (preferred). Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $54,632.00 per year.
  • Full-time role, 35 hours per week; standard schedule Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM.
  • The University will determine final compensation based on factors including budget, qualifications, and experience.
