Applicants should have:

  1. A medical qualification approved for full registration with the Medical Council of Hong Kong;

  2. A specialist qualification in Paediatrics comparable to the requirements of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians;

  3. At least 6 years of post-internship clinical experience;

  4. Demonstrated experience and commitment to undergraduate medical education, including curriculum development, programme coordination, assessment, simulation-based teaching, or other educational initiatives; and

  5. Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and faculties.

The appointee will undertake clinical professional services, teaching and administrative duties at Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong Children's Hospital, and other affiliated teaching sites as appropriate.

The principal responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as the Department's teaching coordinator to lead, plan and evaluate undergraduate teaching activities;
  • Supporting the delivery of high-quality paediatric education for an expanding medical student population, expected to reach approximately 330 students per year;
  • Driving curriculum review, innovation and enhancement initiatives;
  • Working with paediatric units and healthcare partners across Hong Kong to expand teaching capacity and learning opportunities for students;
  • Supporting assessment, quality assurance, faculty development and other educational activities within the undergraduate programme; and
  • Providing professional clinical services in the Department as directed by the Chairperson.

Although the primary focus of the post is medical education, clinical service and academic administration, the Department strongly encourages scholarly activity in medical education. The successful applicant will be supported in undertaking educational research and curriculum innovation projects.

The appointee will initially be offered a 12-month contract, which is renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.
