Clinical Practice Specialist

About the Role The Clinical Practice Specialist (CPS) is a member of the nursing leadership team and an expert in oncology patient populations, evidence-based practice, and health care systems. Working across the enterprise with interdisciplinary departments, the CPS develops, evaluates, and implements evidence-based practices to improve quality and ensure regulatory compliance. The role aligns with ONS and National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists competencies. What You'll Do

• Provide clinical expertise in assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of actual or potential problems in the oncology patient population; collaborate with nurses and others to influence practice and outcomes.
• Serve as a key stakeholder and decision maker for development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of care, policies, guidelines, new equipment, technology, and practices at the point of care; ensure integration of evidence-based practice into daily operations.
• Maintain expertise in ONS, ASCO, and other professional nursing standards; stay current on oncology evidence and changes in disease and treatment practices; participate in local and national professional activities.
• Provide content expertise as needed; collaborate with Professional Development Specialist on curriculum development based on Learning Needs Assessments.
• Leadership: foster an environment of continuous learning, collaborative processes, reflective practice, and empowerment; promote diversity and inclusive care; partner with clinical leaders to set goals and implement strategies; act as a change agent to advance safe, cost-effective, evidence-based nursing care.
• Mentoring: collaborate with other departments and disciplines on projects; serve as a clinical resource and consultant to the NPCS and nursing community; mentor staff and students; contribute to policy committees and NPCS policy development. What We're Looking For
• Strong clinical expertise in oncology nursing with advanced practice knowledge and standards (ONS, ASCO) and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
• Demonstrated leadership, change management, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines to improve patient outcomes.
• Experience mentoring and developing nursing staff and contributing to policy and procedure development. Nice to Have
• Experience with NPCS policy committees; familiarity with professional development curricula. Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: $129,800.00 - $148,400.00 per year
