About the Role Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University's mission of Training Champions for Christ. The Clinical Pastoral Education Adjunct (CPE) will provide instructional support within the School of Divinity, modeling a personal commitment to Liberty's goals and values, and fostering Biblically rooted, Gospel-centered dialogue. The role emphasizes teaching, student engagement, and scholarship as a means to meaningful educational outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Deliver and facilitate Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) instruction as adjunct faculty in the School of Divinity.
- Engage with students, mentor learners, and support spiritual formation within a Biblically grounded, Gospel-centered classroom.
- Employ a variety of teaching techniques to create positive learning conditions and accommodate individual differences, abilities, and interests.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy; collaborate with program leadership as needed.
- Navigate Liberty's systems including Canvas LMS and Microsoft Office suite to support course delivery and administration.
What We're Looking For
- Doctoral degree conferred in related field.
- Clinical Pastoral Educator (CPE) certification.
- Board Certification from the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or NAVAC.
- 10+ years of chaplaincy and pastoral experience.
- Strong administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills; high integrity, tact, and diplomacy.
- Resourceful, team-oriented, and able to handle confidential information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn Canvas LMS and Liberty systems.
Nice to Have
- Proven experience in Canvas Course Development and Teaching.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Courses pay at $800 per load hour; pay range described as $1000 per student up to 10 students in a course.
