About the Role
The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is an advanced practice registered nurse who serves as an oncology and BMT nursing clinical expert, leader, consultant, educator, and mentor for the pediatric care team. The CNS provides advanced evidence-based nursing practice and supports direct patient care, teaching, mentoring, consulting, research, management, and systems improvement. The role influences outcomes by providing expert consultation to care providers and implementing improvements in health care delivery systems.
What You'll Do
- Serve as oncology and BMT nursing clinical expert, leader, consultant, educator, and mentor for the pediatric care team.
- Provide direct patient care and advanced nursing practice across pediatric hematology/oncology/BMT settings as appropriate.
- Lead and mentor care teams; provide expert consultation to all care providers and contribute to teaching, research, and program development.
- Drive practice and health care delivery system improvements through program management, policy development, and resource oversight with a high degree of autonomy.
What We're Looking For
- Advanced practice registered nurse with strong expertise in pediatric hematology/oncology and bone marrow transplant (BMT).
- Deep knowledge of evidence-based nursing and multiple specialty areas (e.g., oncology, pediatrics, geriatrics, psychiatric/mental health, adult health, acute/critical care).
- Demonstrated technical leadership and problem-solving abilities; capable of formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources.
- Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and to influence outcomes through expert consultation and system improvements.
