About the Role The Clinical Laboratory at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Blood Bank/Transfusion Service performs pre-transfusion compatibility testing in preparation for selecting, cross matching and issuing blood components for patients. This position performs all routine and special blood banking tests and procedures. It emphasizes teamwork and reflects the UCSF and ZSFG mission, vision and values.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine and special blood banking tests and procedures.
- Conduct pre-transfusion compatibility testing, cross matching and issuing blood components for patients.
- Work as part of a team and uphold UCSF and ZSFG mission, vision and values.
What We're Looking For
- Graduation from college with a Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate scientific field.
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License issued by the State Department of Health.
- Able to work independently, under pressure; recognize and resolve problems while maintaining a high level of organization.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a high-volume computerized laboratory.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills relative to clinical results.
