About the Role
This is a non-tenure track, part-time/hourly Clinical Faculty Evaluator (CFE) position in WSU Tri-Cities College of Nursing. The role supports a 4.5-month appointment per semester (Fall and/or Spring) and involves mentoring DNP students, coordinating with their clinical preceptors, and ensuring student learning outcomes and clinical competencies are met. The pool is open for the 2026-2027 academic year with applications reviewed through December 31, 2026, and ongoing review for future vacancies.
What You'll Do
- Work with a small number of DNP students engaged in clinical activities and collaborate with their preceptors to assess competency against learning outcomes.
- Provide meaningful feedback to support professional development for DNP students.
- Facilitate clinical instruction for traditional semester-long courses for 4.5 months (Fall and/or Spring) as assigned.
- Be assigned to one of the following departments based on specialty and experience: Foundational Practice and Community Based Care; Advanced Practice and Community Based Care; Nursing Systems and Science.
- Travel to clinical sites within the Benton-Franklin county region as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- 2 years of experience as a nurse practitioner
- Licensure or eligible for license as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner in the State of Washington
- Willingness to travel to clinical sites within the Benton-Franklin county region
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an educator, preceptor, or clinical evaluator.

Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Salary: $58.00/hour (OT eligible)
- Appointment: 4.5-month fixed-term per Fall and/or Spring; pool reviewed through December 31 for Fall and May 15 for Spring; renewal dependent on need
- Location: On-site in Richland, WA
