Job title: Clinical Analytics Specialist – MD
About the Role The Clinical Analytics Specialist (MD) will join the Data Discovery and Enrichment Team (DDE) to support clinical decision support product development and improve search/discovery for users of ClinicalKey at the point of care. The role involves applying clinical knowledge to extract and integrate data and collaborating with clinical solutions and education teams to drive growth, revenue, and innovation.
What You'll Do
- Apply clinical knowledge to extract and integrate data in a healthcare environment.
- Adapt domain ontologies for information extraction, data modeling, and analysis.
- Work closely with data scientists, clinicians, SMEs, taxonomists, and data analysts to provide insights used in automation and applications for health markets.
- Model, validate, and maintain core extracted clinical relationships to contribute to Elsevier’s healthcare knowledge graph (H-graph).
- Provide insights to ensure high quality of automated indexing for search and discovery.
- Apply domain knowledge and collaborate with external clinical experts to confirm and validate clinical content accuracy.
- Ensure content is clinically accurate, current, and supported by the best available medical literature, guidelines, and performance standards.
- Build domain-specific training data sets for ML models used in point-of-care products.
- Generate predictive analytics and insights from large healthcare datasets.
- Participate in design, prototyping, and analytics to inform algorithm codification that will improve clinical workflows and content creation.
What We're Looking For
- Clinical degree (MD, MBBS, or GP) required.
- Preference for formal training or significant experience in evidence-based medicine, clinical research, epidemiology, biostatistics, and the application of evidence to practice.
- Experience in semantic technologies, including text mining and ontology management, is a plus.
- Excellent command of English; proficiency in another language is a plus.
- Experience with medical vocabularies such as SNOMED CT and ICD-10; knowledge of ontology modeling is beneficial.
- Extensive computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Windows; strong MS Word/PowerPoint; ability to work with templates using an electronic content management system.
- Visualization and dashboarding skills (e.g., Tableau) are a plus.
- Clinician with experience in informatics and knowledge retrieval.

- Preference for formal training or significant experience in evidence-based medicine, clinical research, epidemiology, biostatistics, and application of evidence to practice.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: USD 78,800 - 131,300 per year (U.S. National Base Pay Range). Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to reflect local market rates.
- If performed in Maryland, the base pay range is $82,800 - $137,800. If performed in New York, the base pay range is $86,700.
