About the Role

This role drives the client development initiatives of WilmerHale's Regulatory and Government Affairs (RGA) Department and serves as the primary Client Development contact for attorneys. It leads practice group business development and marketing projects, supporting pitches, RFP responses, thought leadership, social media initiatives, and marcom infrastructure to increase visibility and client engagement.

What You'll Do

  • Work with practice groups to implement client development projects and initiatives to support new business development goals.
  • Leverage the firm’s experience and industry knowledge to develop pitches and presentations tailored to companies’ needs.
  • Offer strategic guidance to lawyers preparing to approach potential clients and expand existing relationships.
  • Use business intelligence and research to identify opportunities for new work from existing clients.
  • Manage the RGA Department’s archiving of business development activities and experiences.
  • Update web and print marketing collateral (practice group descriptions, matter/case lists, biographies).
  • Lead on lateral partner onboarding and practice group strategic planning.
  • Develop technical understanding of clients and industries to proactively identify business development opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain trusted advisor relationships with partners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to deliver excellent client service.
  • Manage day-to-day work of a Client Development Specialist and Coordinator, including webinars, client events and sponsorships, plus promotion and follow-up.
  • Contribute to the firm’s Service Excellence initiative.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong independent thinking, execution, and professional judgment.
  • Strong multitasking and project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and changing project criteria.
  • Demonstrable analytic skills, organizational skills, initiative and vision.
  • Superior oral and written communications skills, including professional presentation abilities, with strong grammar and proofreading.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Education: BA/BS required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: a minimum of eight to ten years’ experience in legal, technology, management, or market analysis environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with thought leadership, client-facing events, sponsorships, and social media campaigns.
  • Experience collaborating across departments and managing marketing programs.
  • Experience with onboarding partners and practice group strategic initiatives.
