About the Role Clerical/Administrative staff perform and/or provide guidance to one or more general and specialized clerical and administrative services essential to the operation of all University departments; incumbents are expected to apply standard office methods independently within guidelines and contribute to end products of work. This role may involve participating in budget, grant, or contract preparation, and providing services such as purchasing, reporting, records, and facilities coordination.
What You'll Do
- Perform and/or provide guidance to clerical and administrative tasks essential to operations across departments; participate in budget, grant, or contract preparation; administer departmental expenditures; maintain personnel records; prepare reports and maintain files; provide non-laboratory business services such as purchasing, inventory and stores, facilities and space utilization; and provide general clerical and secretarial assistance.
What We're Looking For
- High school graduation and one year of related administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Read, write, speak and understand English fluently
- Flexible scheduling during operational hours Sun–Sat, 5am–10pm
- Wear uniform including nametag
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Able to motivate and support others in their quest to be healthier and fitter
- Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with deadlines in a customer service setting under minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Demonstrated skill necessary to collect, organize and disseminate information upon request
Nice to Have
- Customer service experience
- Experience in hospitality industry
- Knowledge of the UC systems, forms, policies, structure
- Knowledge of UCSF Fitness and Recreation
- Experience in fitness and/or organized sports
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $24.94-27.24/hour
