What Your Job Will Be Like:

Are you passionate about leveraging cutting-edge facilities and collaborating with experts to develop innovative national security solutions? The Science and Engineering Information Systems Group, 09350, is a highly integrated team focused on delivering software and system solutions for the Nuclear Deterrence (ND) mission at Sandia and the NNSA's Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE).

We seek a skilled and adaptable General Business Management Administrative Support professional to facilitate program coordination, implement targeted training, and assist with project scheduling. This role involves direct engagement with projects in 09350, where departments collaborate closely with the Nuclear Security Enterprise to develop innovative software solutions in the National Interest. In this position, you will interact with staff and management at various levels. You will also collaborate with team members to enhance processes and creatively solve problems.

On any given day, you may be called upon to:

  • Coordinate project-related on- boarding programs.
  • Support communication initiatives by assisting with newsletter development and distribution, manage entity account communications and metagroups, etc.
  • Plan and coordinate project-related meetings and events, ensuring alignment with programmatic goals.
  • Provide administrative support on behalf of multiple projects in conjunction with the business team.
  • Help organize program-specific training sessions and workshops, including scheduling and logistics.
  • Use common office software and proprietary software to compile and generate reports, timelines, tables, and graphs; to review status of projects and budgets; and to create and maintain project/team presentations.
  • Independently, or with guidance, manage multiple priorities and projects, and produce quality results that meet tight deadlines.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other administrative and technical staff from internal and external organizations on various tasks.
  • Design processes to enhance workflow.

The selected applicant must live within a reasonable commuting distance and be able to work onsite at least 3 days per week, with the option to work offsite for the remaining days.

Salary Range:

$48,500 - $89,000

Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:

  • High school diploma plus three (3) years of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Work and thrive in a team environment and interact with all levels of internal and external personnel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to work at a very focused and tactical level as well as a broader, more strategic level.
  • Ability to work independently, or with some guidance, organize, prioritize and follow-through to completion on multiple tasks, often under strict deadlines, frequent interruptions, and competing priorities.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office Products.
  • Active DOE Q-level clearance.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Experience managing SharePoint sites, web pages, or other related software tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, to include light editing and document formatting.
  • Ability to self-start, work independently, take initiative and ownership of tasks and exercise mature appropriate judgment with only limited or occasional direction to complete those tasks as and when encouraged. We encourage sound decision making and good judgment that may require the individual to develop a sense of when to seek advice or refer a problem to others within the organization.
  • Experience as a TEDS Administrator.
  • Experience with Enterprise Person.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Experience working within the Product Realization Integrated Digital Enterprise program.
  • Experience working with classified/sensitive matter.
  • Experience working with executive level management
  • Knowledge of agile software development practices.

About Our Team:

The Science and Engineering Information Systems (SEIS) Group, 9350, is a highly integrated team focused on delivering software and system solutions for the Nuclear Deterrence (ND) mission at Sandia and the NNSA Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE).

Core capabilities in 9350 include software and data architecture, all aspects of software engineering, Agile software execution, configuration and asset management solutions, and emerging capabilities in augmented/virtual reality, 3D visualization, machine learning and data analytics. The organization's mission is to enable ND programs across the enterprise to deliver faster and more effectively. 9350 employs an agile product development and deployment process, and staff members are expected to drive process improvements through adoption of new techniques and industry best practices.

Posting Duration:

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

Applicants offered employment with Sandia are subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
