Job title: Class A CDL Driver - Tuesday-Saturday
About the Role The Class A CDL Driver will safely operate and drive commercial vehicles to transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials to disposal or recycling facilities. Based in Raleigh, NC, this full-time role supports regulatory compliance and safety programs. The schedule is Tuesday–Saturday with potential overnight travel and optional Emergency Response rotation.
What You'll Do
- Safely operate and drive commercial vehicles (tractor trailers, tankers, roll-offs, and box trucks) in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials to disposal or recycling facilities.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain accurate digital logs per DOT rules; complete manifest paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and clients to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
- Assist with loading/unloading; properly secure loads for safe transport.
- Participate in ongoing training; travel overnight as required (2+ days per trip); rotate on-call responsibilities as part of Emergency Response (optional).
- Adhere to safety policies and environmental compliance requirements; report any vehicle/service issues promptly.
- Report to the Transportation Manager.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
- Ability to lift 60 pounds; safety-first attitude; consent to MVR/background/drug screen/physical; eligible to work in the United States; able to work flexible hours and overtime; travel overnight 2+ days per week; able to report to designated office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts.
- Reliable transportation; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; knowledge of DOT regulations; safety-sensitive role; must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles.
- Previous experience in environmental services or related field.
