Job title: Claims Examiner - Trade Credit Insurance

As a Claims Examiner, you will investigate and evaluate commercial credit insurance claims, interpret policy provisions, determine coverage, and support recovery efforts. You will collaborate closely with customers, brokers, legal counsel, recovery specialists, and internal business partners to deliver fair and timely claim resolutions.

In this position your key responsibilities will be:

• Analyze and evaluate trade credit insurance claims and determine policy liability.
• Review policy terms, financial information, and supporting documentation to assess claim validity and indemnity.
• Advise customers regarding loss mitigation and recovery opportunities.
• Monitor and manage recoveries and recovery costs.
• Collaborate with underwriting, recoveries, legal counsel, brokers, and customers to resolve complex claim matters.
• Communicate claim decisions and recommendations clearly and professionally to internal and external stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement of claims processes and procedures through participation in local and international initiatives.
• Manage multiple claim files while maintaining quality, accuracy, and compliance standards.

What qualification should you have?

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Risk Management, Insurance, Legal Studies, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Additional Requirement for Montreal and Mississauga: Professional verbal and written communication skills in both French and English. AMF Adjuster License required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in commercial insurance claims, credit and collections, accounts receivable, banking, trade finance, financial services, or risk management.
• Experience reviewing contracts, policy language, legal documents, or financial records.
• Knowledge of bankruptcy, insolvency, commercial recoveries, or credit risk assessment.
• Previous claims handling experience.
