Civil / Structural Engineer

About the Role ExxonMobil is seeking an experienced civil/structural engineer to provide technical support in Bengaluru Technology Center – Surface Engineering, supporting Upstream, Downstream projects and manufacturing sites worldwide. The role emphasizes safety, standards development, and design oversight from conceptual to final execution. What You'll Do

• Provide civil/structural engineering expertise for Upstream and Downstream ExxonMobil projects and manufacturing sites worldwide.
• Sustain a culture of safety and ensure compliance with safety management systems.
• Develop company and industry standards; contribute to global design practices.
• Offer technical support throughout development phases from concept to detailed design and execution.
• Develop scopes of work for conceptual studies, prepare technical specifications, assist in contractor selection, and assure quality control of contractors' work.
• Interface with manufacturing sites, regulatory agencies, and industry organizations to align design and compliance. What We're Looking For
• Master’s/post-graduate degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with GPA 7.0 or above.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a civil/structural engineer in oil & gas/petrochemical.
• Experience in design for onshore petrochemical structures: steel and concrete design/analysis, equipment foundations, dynamic loading, blast analysis, drainage and site grading.
• Strong technical and analytical skills; able to evaluate different conceptual designs.
• Proficiency with structural analysis/design software (e.g. Staad.Pro).
• Hands-on experience developing design calculation sheets for reinforced concrete and steel structures per applicable codes/standards.
• Self-motivated, results-focused; able to lead and mentor team members; excellent communication.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Nice to Have
• Onshore technical support areas: structural inspection, rehabilitation and upgrading; blast-resistant design; earthquake analysis; foundations/pilings; dynamic analysis of foundations; site drainage; tanks and stacks; geotechnical data interpretation; refinery/petrochemical exposure.
• Offshore technical support: fixed/floating platforms design and analysis, fatigue analysis, metocean criteria, seismic analysis, offshore foundations and piling, FPSOs, jack-up rigs, and related inspections. Compensation & Benefits
