We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Civil / Site Engineer

Location: Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (9:00am – 5:00pm)

Job Summary

• The Civil Engineer will be responsible for the technical supervision, planning, coordination and quality control of civil works across Crovation's estates and development projects.
• The successful candidate will oversee site activities including estate roads, drainage, fencing, demarcation, earthworks, concrete works and other infrastructure projects, while ensuring that projects are delivered within approved budgets, timelines and quality standards.
• The role requires a hands-on professional who can work effectively with contractors, surveyors, suppliers, artisans, consultants and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Site Inspection & Supervision:

• Conduct regular inspections of Crovation estate sites and ongoing projects.
• Assess site conditions and identify required civil works.
• Supervise contractors, artisans and site workers.
• Monitor work progress and ensure compliance with approved specifications.
• Take site measurements and verify completed quantities.
• Prepare detailed site inspection and progress reports.

Estate Infrastructure Development:

Supervise and coordinate projects including:

• Estate fencing and boundary walls.
• Estate roads and access roads.
• Drainage systems and culverts.
• Earthworks and site preparation.
• Concrete works.
• Gatehouses and other estate structures.
• Land clearing and reclamation-related works where applicable.
• Estate demarcation and related civil works.
• Repairs and maintenance of existing infrastructure.

BOQ, Costing & Budget Control:

• Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Prepare project cost estimates and material requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate contractor quotations.
• Verify quantities before materials are purchased or payments are approved.
• Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
• Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary project costs without compromising quality.
• Report cost variations and additional works to management for approval.

Contractor Management:

• Coordinate contractors and subcontractors on project sites.
• Monitor contractor performance, workmanship and timelines.
• Ensure contractors comply with agreed specifications and scope of work.
• Verify completed work before recommending payments.
• Identify poor-quality or defective work and ensure corrective action is taken.
• Maintain proper records of contractor activities and performance.

Quality Control:

• Ensure materials and workmanship meet required engineering standards.

• Inspect works at critical stages before progression to the next stage.

• Identify defects, construction errors and potential structural problems.

• Ensure corrective works are completed appropriately.

• Maintain quality standards across all Crovation projects.

• 6. Project Planning & Monitoring

• Develop project work plans and timelines.

• Track project progress against approved schedules.

• Identify delays and recommend corrective measures.

• Provide management with regular updates on project status.

• Coordinate technical activities with surveyors and other consultants.

Documentation & Reporting:

Prepare and maintain:

• Weekly site reports.
• Project progress reports.
• BOQs and cost estimates.
• Material schedules.
• Contractor assessment reports.
• Site inspection reports.
• Project photographs and documentation.
• Variation and additional-work reports.
• Project completion reports.

Technical Support to Other Departments:

• Provide technical information to the Sales and Marketing teams regarding estate infrastructure.
• Support Client Relations during client site inspections where technical explanations are required.
• Provide accurate information regarding roads, fencing, drainage, development status and other infrastructure.
• Assist management with technical assessments when acquiring or developing new properties.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure basic health and safety standards are maintained on project sites.
• Ensure contractors use appropriate safety equipment.
• Report unsafe site conditions immediately.
• Ensure works comply with applicable building and engineering requirements.
• Escalate significant technical or safety risks to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline with 3 – 7 years' relevant experience, preferably within real estate, construction or property development.
• Proven experience in site supervision and civil works.
• Experience with estate infrastructure projects will be an advantage.
• Experience preparing or reviewing BOQs and project cost estimates.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of construction materials, methods and site practices.
• COREN registration or eligibility for registration is an advantage.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant engineering/project management software is an advantage.

Other Requirements:

• Occasional weekend work may be required for site inspections, project deadlines or other business requirements.
• The role requires regular travel to Crovation project locations.
• The successful candidate must be physically fit and comfortable working in outdoor construction/site environments.
• Must be willing to travel to project locations within Lagos, Ogun and other areas where Crovation has active projects.

Salary

N280,000 - N400,000 Monthly.
