Job Title: Chief Technology Officer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

About the Role

• We are seeking an accomplished Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the organization’s technology strategy, transformation, and execution.
• The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a CTO or comparable executive technology leadership role, with a strong understanding of fintech, device financing, digital platforms, and technology-enabled business models.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for building a scalable technology function, driving innovation, improving delivery, and leading the organization toward a more technology-driven platform model.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company’s overall technology strategy in alignment with business objectives.
• Lead the transformation of the organization into a scalable, technology-enabled platform.
• Oversee the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of technology products and platforms.
• Provide strong leadership to engineering, product, infrastructure, data, and other technology teams.
• Establish a high-performance technology culture focused on ownership, accountability, innovation, and timely delivery.
• Drive the development of secure, scalable, reliable, and customer-focused digital solutions.
• Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to identify and implement technology opportunities that drive business growth.
• Translate business objectives into clear technology roadmaps, priorities, and execution plans.
• Own technology delivery across major projects and ensure initiatives are delivered within agreed timelines and standards.
• Strengthen technology architecture, cybersecurity, data infrastructure, integrations, and overall system reliability.
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies that can improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
• Establish appropriate technology governance, processes, standards, and performance metrics.
• Manage relationships with technology vendors, partners, and external service providers.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, security, and data protection requirements.
• Manage technology budgets, resources, and investments effectively.
• Identify technology risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Champion continuous improvement and rapid execution across the technology function.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Significant experience in a CTO, VP of Technology, Head of Engineering, or comparable senior technology leadership role.
• Strong experience within fintech, financial services, device financing, lending, payments, or related technology-driven industries.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale technology transformation and delivering complex technology projects.
• Strong understanding of digital platforms, software architecture, APIs, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, data, and modern engineering practices.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing technology teams.
• Strong understanding of product development and the ability to work closely with product and business teams.
• Proven ability to take ownership of technology strategy and execution from concept through delivery.
• Strong commercial and business acumen with the ability to connect technology decisions to business outcomes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic thinking abilities.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment and drive rapid transformation.

• The ideal candidate is a strategic technology leader who can also execute. You should be comfortable making difficult technology decisions, challenging ideas when necessary, standing your ground with senior stakeholders, and taking full ownership of major technology initiatives.
• You must have a proven ability to build teams, own projects, drive delivery, and transform technology into a genuine business growth engine.
