Job Summary

Our client seeks an experienced Chief Technology Officer to lead its telecommunications engineering, network architecture, infrastructure deployment, and technical operations. The ideal candidate must have extensive hands-on experience in ISP, broadband, carrier networks, or telecommunications infrastructure, alongside proven leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement network architecture and technical strategies for ISP, broadband, fibre, wireless, and enterprise connectivity services.
• Oversee network design, configuration, deployment, optimisation, and maintenance.
• Establish and manage Network Operations Centre (NOC) operations, including monitoring, incident response, and service reliability.
• Lead IP networking, BGP routing, peering, capacity planning, network security, and redundancy.
• Manage relationships with wholesale carriers, infrastructure providers, and equipment vendors.
• Oversee technical procurement, budgets, network expansion, and infrastructure projects.
• Recruit, lead, and develop engineering and network operations teams.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Nigerian telecommunications regulations and technical standards.
• Collaborate with commercial and finance teams to support business growth and cost efficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum of 17 years’ relevant telecommunications or network engineering experience, including senior leadership responsibility.

• Proven experience in ISP, broadband, carrier networks, fibre, wireless, or telecommunications infrastructure.

• Strong hands-on expertise in IP networking, routing and switching, BGP, IPv4/IPv6, network security, and troubleshooting.

• Experience leading NOC operations, network deployments, and service-level management.

• Proven ability to manage technical teams, vendors, infrastructure projects, and budgets.

• Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Relevant professional certifications are an advantage.

• Strong technical leadership, project management, documentation, and commercial skills.
