Job title: Chief People Officer (CPO)
About the Role You will serve as Chief People Officer (CPO) for Measures for Justice, leading a scalable, remote people and culture strategy aligned to the organization’s goals and core values. As a key member of the Executive team and a trusted partner to the CEO, you will design an accountable, modern human capital function that empowers a remote workforce and advances our mission to save LGBTQ+ lives. You will bridge silos, drive culture, and build a data-informed people infrastructure across the employee lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Set the overarching vision for a modern, remote people and culture strategy aligned with multi-year goals and core values.
- Advise the CEO and executive leaders on organizational design, change management, and leadership development.
- Lead organizational evolution using data and analytics to drive workforce planning and effectiveness.
- Directly lead, mentor, and coach the People team; design and execute an internal engagement strategy; foster an inclusive culture with DEI&B embedded across the lifecycle.
- Partner with the Executive Director and Director of People at Trevor Mexico to ensure alignment and cultural integration.
- In partnership with General Counsel, lead labor relations and manage the union agreement; build learning pipelines and upskill first-time managers.
- Oversee HR operations including payroll, total rewards, and leave administration; streamline workflows and ensure compliance; manage the People function budget.
What We're Looking For
- Proven senior HR leader with experience scaling HR in remote or distributed organizations.
- Strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team with strong skills in organizational design, change management, and leadership development.
- Data-driven with a track record of using analytics for workforce planning.
- Experience building an inclusive culture and embedding DEI&B throughout policies and processes.
- Experience leading a People team and implementing engaging talent development programs.
- Knowledge of labor relations and working with unions, including collective bargaining agreements.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication with finance, legal, operations, and executive leadership.
- Operational HR experience (payroll, total rewards, compliance) and budget management.
