The Federal College of Education, FCE Yola was established in 1974 as a middle level Teacher Training Institute. Hitherto, it was known as Federal advanced Teacher's College, FATC Yola. However, actual academic activities commenced during the 1975/76 session, with a total of 150 students under the leadership of the Pioneer Principal.

Requirements
- Candidate for position of Chief Lecturer must possess minimum of Masters Degree with specialization in the areas advertised below, with at least fifteen (15) years teaching and research experience. In addition, candidates should have the following: Evidence of NYSC Discharge or Exemption certificate; Evidence of Registration with TRCN; Demonstration of good knowledge of computer; Demonstrate ability to offer academic and administrative leadership; Demonstrable ability to initiate and supervise applied research/project/exhibition; Evidence of continuous research/invention/innovation in the area of specialization; Successful external assessment; Evidence of community service.
