Job title: Chief Financial Officer
Overview
Our client, a growing organization within the financial services sector, is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic and operational leadership across its Finance and Administration functions.
The CFO will strengthen financial systems and controls, drive financial planning and strategy, manage liquidity, treasury and investments, oversee regulatory compliance, and provide strategic financial advice to Executive Management and the Board.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the Finance and Administration function, including the development of appropriate structures, policies, and processes.
- Lead financial reporting, accounting operations, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and business planning.
- Manage liquidity, cash flow, treasury, and investment activities.
- Provide strategic financial advice to the MD/CEO and Executive Management on business decisions, capital allocation, risks, and opportunities.
- Support the development of financial and guarantee pricing models to promote long-term financial sustainability.
- Oversee tax matters and internal and external audit processes.
- Lead administration and procurement activities, ensuring compliance with approved policies and procedures.
- Support fundraising initiatives, mid-term financial planning, and long-term growth strategy.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the Board, management, auditors, tax advisors, vendors, partners, and other key stakeholders.
- Lead and develop the Finance and Administration team in line with organizational growth.
Requirements
- Master’s degree from a reputable university.
- Professional membership/certification with ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, CIMA, IIA, CISA, or another recognized professional accounting/auditing association.
- Minimum of 15 years’ proven professional experience within the MSME credit landscape or a similar role.
- At least 12 years of experience at senior managerial level.
- Deep knowledge of financial services, banking practices, financial markets, cash management, and treasury instruments.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, cost management, risk management, and financial analysis.
- Experience implementing accounting and financial reporting systems.
