Job title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the Role HealthTrust's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides vision and leadership for the organization's financial, rating, and facilities functions. The role includes managing budgets and cash flow, monitoring claims, maintaining GAAP-compliant financial records, and ensuring effective use of resources to support operations and programs for Member Groups. The CFO reports to the Executive Director, keeps the Board informed of financial status, and supervises the Finance and Facilities Departments with a high degree of independence.

What You'll Do

  • Participate as an active Leadership Team member, guiding strategy, culture, and management discussions; keeps the Executive Director informed about unit activities, issues, problems, and opportunities.
  • Oversee development and management of annual operating and capital budgets; administer financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and communicate status to stakeholders; develop monthly financial reporting.
  • Implement internal accounting controls and financial reporting procedures; prepare monthly and year-end reconciliations and statements; monitor cash flow and liquidity; prepare cash flow statements.
  • Develop and compute employee benefit rates and contributions for Member Groups; advise on rate impacts.
  • Analyze and monitor the investment portfolio; coordinate with investment advisors to preserve capital, liquidity, and returns; align with Investment Policy.
  • Develop and enhance financial systems, procedures, and policies; safeguard assets through internal controls; ensure compliance with trends and regulations; prepare reports and analyses.
  • Oversee financial compliance with federal and state authorities; coordinate with external auditors and actuaries.
  • Lead the Financial Services Unit; manage staff, ensure cross-training, oversee training, and conduct annual performance evaluations.
  • Manage space, facilities, and capital equipment; oversee procurement, maintenance, vendor relations, security, and related services.
  • Oversee internal risk management and insurance placement for HealthTrust and contracted entities.
  • Perform other duties as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Master’s degree with major coursework in finance, business, or accounting or an advanced professional certification (CPA).
  • Strong leadership and supervisory experience; ability to manage Finance and Facilities units.
  • Expertise in budgeting, cash flow management, financial reporting, GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with investment management and risk management; ability to coordinate with auditors and actuaries.
  • Excellent communication skills with the Executive Director, Board, and external partners.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to develop financial systems and processes.
