Chief AI Architect

About the Role The Chief AI Architect is the most senior architecture authority in AI and Agentic Engineering at Scotiabank, responsible for translating enterprise AI strategy into coherent, production-viable architectures across business lines, platforms, and geographies. The role leads the Enterprise AI and Agentic Solution Architecture group and defines architectural standards that govern all AI solution builds, ensuring platform investments align with business outcomes. What You'll Do

• Define Scotiabank's enterprise AI solution architecture: canonical reference architectures, solution patterns, and integration blueprints for GenAI, agentic AI, and ML across business lines, customer-facing products, and internal operations at scale.
• Lead the Enterprise AI and Agentic Solution Architecture group: set architectural direction, build architectural capacity by developing architects from Senior to Principal, establish design authority review cadence and criteria, and ensure the group operates as an accelerator for AI solution delivery rather than a governance bottleneck.
• Translate Scotiabank's enterprise AI strategy and business line requirements into architecture-level decisions: platform capability mapping, integration architecture, data architecture dependencies, deployment topology, and the end-to-end solution blueprints that engineering teams implement without governance bottlenecks. What We're Looking For
• Senior-level enterprise AI architecture experience, with ability to define and drive architecture for GenAI, agentic AI, and ML across multiple business units and geographies.
• Proven leadership to grow and guide an architecture function (Senior to Principal levels) and to set design authority and governance cadence.
• Strong collaboration with business lines, platforms, and engineering teams, translating strategy into scalable, production-ready architectures that map to business outcomes.
• Deep understanding of how AI capabilities are assembled into end-to-end solutions and how to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
