About the Role The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Iowa State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Chemical Engineering at the assistant, associate, or full professor level. The successful candidate will establish and grow a world-class research program, contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and participate in departmental, college, and professional service, with potential for tenure and advancement based on achievements. What You'll Do
- Establish, sustain, and grow a world-class research program that complements the department's strengths, pursuing both independent and collaborative work.
- Build a record of scholarship at the highest levels and disseminate findings through high-impact publications and presentations.
- Contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, mentor students and research trainees, and engage in curriculum development as appropriate.
- Engage in institutional service and service to the profession, and demonstrate leadership and good citizenship within the department, college, and university. What We're Looking For
- Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and Ph.D. or equivalent degree in chemical engineering or a closely aligned field.
- Associate professor candidates must also meet the university standards for appointment to the rank, including significant experience/accomplishments in their area of expertise.
- Professor candidates are required to have national distinction, international recognition, and a substantial scholarly record in their area of expertise, in addition to the aforementioned requirements.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Evidence of collaboration and leadership in research and education.
- Published research expertise in fields related to chemical engineering.
- Potential to establish an externally funded research program.
- Ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in chemical engineering.
- Ability to mentor research trainees.
