Wigginton Cottage Salary - £13.45 per hour Full-time - 40 hours per week

Wigginton Cottage has an opportunity for a Chef to join our team.

Wigginton Cottage, Tamworth, Staffordshire is a residential service supporting 8 adults with a range of needs. It is located in a village setting and is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes and nearby rail links into Tamworth. Due to the location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.

What you'll be doing

Join our team as a Chef, where you’ll lead the delivery of a high-quality catering service, creating nutritious, varied and enjoyable meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of the people we support.

What you’ll be doing:

• Plan, prepare, cook and serve a variety of meals, ensuring individual dietary, nutritional, cultural and religious requirements are met.
• Develop creative menus that promote healthy eating, choice and variety, adapting meals to meet changing needs.
• Lead, supervise and motivate the catering team, maintaining high standards of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness and food safety.
• Manage catering budgets, stock ordering and rotation, ensuring value for money, ingredient quality and minimal food waste.
• Ensure all catering activities comply with company policies, food safety standards and relevant legislation. You can find additional information in the attached job description.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role At least 3 years’ experience preparing and cooking meals gained within a large professional kitchen environment.
