Job title: Chef Manager - Cabrini Campus
About the Role
Chef Manager oversees daily unit operations at Cabrini Campus Dining, ensuring policies and procedures are followed and leading staff to achieve exceptional food quality and service aligned with Villanova's mission and core values.
What You'll Do
- Ensure sanitation and kitchen safety, maintain high food quality across all Cabrini Campus outlets, and monitor food handling, temperatures, and holding times.
- Maintain cleaning schedules for all kitchen equipment on daily, weekly, and monthly cycles; ensure production records are properly maintained, including food temperature logs.
- Provide staff with tools and guidance to serve high-quality food in a friendly, efficient manner; model respect and collaboration in a clean environment.
- Assist management with scheduling production, staffing, coaching, training, and annual staff evaluations; promote trust, accountability, and professional development.
- Assist with day-to-day unit operations including payroll, opening/closing routines, staffing level monitoring; support transparency and accountability.
- Train, develop, and direct staff using approved management practices.
What We're Looking For
- Prior leadership experience in food service or hospitality operations.
- Strong knowledge of sanitation, food safety (HACCP or equivalent), and kitchen safety.
- Ability to schedule and manage staff, coordinate payroll, and oversee opening/closing procedures.
- Effective coaching, communication, and training skills; commitment to team development and the University's mission and values.
- Ability to work collaboratively with management and campus partners to uphold Villanova and Dining Services standards.
