Job title: Charge Registered Nurse - Surgery - Evenings
About the Role The Charge Registered Nurse - Surgery/OR provides professional nursing care in the surgical setting, applying critical thinking to assess patient conditions, plan and evaluate care, monitor progress, and document observations. This role collaborates with the OR team to meet unit goals and may delegate tasks to other staff.
What You'll Do
- Render professional nursing care to provide quality patient care in the surgical/OR setting.
- Assess patients’ condition using critical thinking; recognize deviations and respond with appropriate care plans.
- Monitor patients’ progress, record pertinent observations, and communicate with the care team.
- Delegate appropriate patient care tasks to other staff and function as a team member to achieve unit goals.
- Adapt to general characteristics of the job with duties varying by unit or shift as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure.
- Current CPR Certification (BLS) issued by American Heart Association.
- Associate degree in nursing or higher (BSN required within 5 years from start date).
- ACLS within ninety days of start date; PALS within ninety days of start date.
- OR/Surgery experience; OR Charge experience preferred.
Nice to Have
- Baccalaureate Degree or higher in Nursing.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $36.00 - $55.80 per hour. The rate varies by experience and other factors.
