About the Role Broadlawns Medical Center seeks a Certified Surgical Technician (Scrub Tech) to assist with basic nursing care and preparation of surgical patients of all ages under the direct supervision of the staff nurse. You will help prepare and maintain the sterile field and support the operative team to ensure safe, efficient procedures.
What You'll Do
- Assist with basic nursing care and preparation of surgical patients under the direct supervision of the staff nurse.
- Identify patient needs based on age-specific data.
- Select appropriate instruments and supplies and set up tables as required for specific operations.
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field for all surgical procedures.
- Prepare and pass instruments, sponges, and supplies needed in the operative procedure and maintain a correct count.
- Function as a member of the sterile team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Schedule generally Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm; call hours required.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) or equivalent education/experience.
- Ability to successfully complete Basic Life Support Certification.
- Consistently works as a team member and communicates effectively.
- Work shift: 7a-3p.
