About this role
About the Role The Surgical Technologist supports surgical procedures in the Main Operating Room for Endeavor Health's Ortho & Spine Institute in Skokie, IL on a per diem basis. This role prepares and maintains sterile instrumentation and supplies, assists the surgical team, and helps ensure a safe environment for patients from pediatric to geriatric. What You'll Do
- Identify and obtain the required surgical instrumentation, equipment and supplies based on physicians' requests and patient needs; exchanges drug trays under the direction of licensed medical staff.
- Inspect, properly care for and handle surgical instrumentation and equipment.
- Perform scrub responsibilities according to physician's preference and hospital policies and procedures.
- Anticipate and respond to the surgeon's needs for instruments, ligatures, sponges, irrigation, etc. during procedures.
- Maintain a safe environment and communicate effectively with patients of all ages. What We're Looking For
- Graduate of an approved surgical technology program.
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in surgery or on-the-job experience.
- Certification in surgical technology preferred. Nice to Have
- Certification in surgical technology (preferred). Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $26.61 - $39.92.
