About the Role The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides high-quality, compassionate patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff in the Post Surgical Unit. This role supports patient health, safety, and dignity and aligns with Oregon's 2025 CNA certification standards.
What You'll Do
- Assist with daily living activities and basic patient care under RN supervision.
- Collect objective data, support therapeutic interventions, and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
- Coordinate unit activities and maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment.
- Follow established policies and safety guidelines to promote patient health and dignity.
What We're Looking For
- Education/Certifications/Licenses: High school diploma or equivalent; current, valid Oregon CNA certification (per the 2025 unified certification requirements); American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience: Previous CNA experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred; strong customer service, interpersonal, observational, and communication skills.
- Skills/Abilities: Ability to organize and prioritize work; collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams; cultural sensitivity; basic computer skills and electronic health records; familiarity with medical terminology; ability to follow verbal and written instructions; reliability, professionalism, punctuality.
- Physical/Environmental: ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch; may be required to lift up to 50 pounds; exposure to body fluids; must communicate clearly in English; use of personal computers and electronic health records system.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical terminology is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $19.36 - $28.74 per hour (USD).
- Shift: Day Shift; 72 hours per pay period; Full-time.
