About the Role Certified Medical Assistant – Powdersville Family Practice is a key member of the clinic team who supports the primary care physician in delivering high-quality patient care within medical assisting guidelines. This role focuses on reviewing and updating health records, measuring vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms for examinations. What You'll Do
- Greet patients and community members, providing excellent customer service in a respectful manner
- Prepare and review patient charts for upcoming visits by verifying that all diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other medical records are correct and up to date
- Measure vital signs including pulse rate, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height
- Perform departmental-related clerical duties such as checking inventory, stocking supplies, tracking referrals, and answering phones as needed
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly; other duties as assigned What We're Looking For
- Education: High School Degree or GED
- Licensure/Certification: Active Medical Assisting certification from one of the following (required): CMA; RMA; CCMA; NHA; NRCMA; NCMA; NCCT; ABR-OE acceptable if MA certification not obtainable (not accepted in SC); BLS from American Heart Association; required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH
- Experience: One year of medical assistant healthcare experience (preferred, not required); Two years of clerical experience in a physician's office (preferred, not required)
- Skills & Abilities: Problem-solving skills, basic computer skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; engage with staff and patients in a professional manner Compensation & Benefits
