About this role
About the Role The Undergraduate Tutor supports the Center for Speaking and Presentation by running tutoring sessions for public speakers and assisting with events and workshops on campus. This student position involves tutoring in Speaking and Presentation skills, staffing tabling events, delivering workshops, and visiting classes to support student development.
What You'll Do
- Run tutoring sessions (approximately 60 minutes) focusing on a single area or a combination of skills as needed
- Use WCOnline for scheduling and managing tutoring sessions
- Attend monthly tutor training events and help present workshops and class visits
- Staff resource fair tables (three events annually: August, February, April)
- Support staffing of tabling events, workshops, and class visits as part of Center activities
What We're Looking For
- Must be a COM major
- Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above
- Provide contact information for at least one Villanova faculty member who can provide an endorsement
- Must have completed Public Speaking class by the start date for the semester
- Eligibility: work-study preferred but open to all students
- Available to be physically on campus to run sessions at Falvey Library
Nice to Have
- Past peer mentoring or peer tutoring experience preferred but not required
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage Rate: $11.25 per hour (USD)
