About the Role Siemens Healthineers is hiring for an Acrorad-based position in Okinawa to develop and advance CdTe single-crystal growth for radiation detectors and related technologies. The role involves developing and improving single-crystal growth methods, synthesizing polycrystalline materials and solvents, enhancing quality, advancing heat-treatment techniques, evaluating crystals and developing evaluation methods, and improving device performance while introducing new technologies.
What You'll Do
- Develop and improve single-crystal growth methods; work on synthesis and quality improvement of polycrystalline materials and solvents where applicable.
- Develop and refine heat treatment technologies; evaluate crystals and establish evaluation methodologies.
- Assess device performance and drive improvements; implement new techniques and enhance existing technologies.
- Collaborate across teams; contribute to ongoing R&D and technology development for detector materials.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in physics, chemistry, crystallography, metallurgy, materials engineering or semiconductor device physics; 3+ years of R&D or related experience.
- Experience with bulk single-crystal growth; experience in thermal-fluid analysis is a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills (negotiation and presentation).
- Proficiency in Japanese (business level) and English (conversational to business level).
Nice to Have
- Thermal-fluid analysis experience (optional but preferred).
Compensation & Benefits
- Theoretical annual salary: 4.0–4.5 million JPY (negotiable) plus various allowances; overtime compensation separate.
